Talking with your employees about preventing coronavirus

Many employers will have workers who are worried and concerned about returning to work while the outbreak is ongoing.

If you’re an employer, you will need to assess the risks of returning to work and outline the steps in place to reduce these risks. It’s important you work through these plans with your workers so they feel confident and assured that they can return to work safely. This will allow them to raise concerns and influence decisions on their health and safety.

The HSE has developed a toolkit to help you consult with your workers and discuss the steps you could put in place to manage the risks of coronavirus and continue working.

Working safely during the coronavirus outbreak

Many businesses that have not been operating during the coronavirus outbreak will now be putting in place plans for their workers to return to work safely.

Whether this is continuing to work from home or planning a return to the office, factory or site, it is likely that your workplace will be organised differently and you will need to communicate this with your employees.

The HSE has a range of guidance on its website for all employers including those who have continued working through the outbreak, outlining the steps you should take to help manage the risks of coronavirus and keep workers safe (COVID secure).

If you’re a worker or an employer the HSE coronavirus microsite is regularly updated with news and information on the latest topics and issues.
